Thank You!

The 2022 annual giving day --The Big Payback is in the books.  The fun started at 6:00 PM and continued for 24 hours. The New Beginnings Center is excited to announce we raised almost $22,000 of our $25,000 goal!

Thank you to each of you who participated. We could not do what we do without your financial support! The results of this year's Big Payback will enable 22 women to go through our program. This means that 22 women who can't otherwise afford these life-changing physical, nutritional, and life-coaching services, now have access to our holistic approach to better health!

What is 'emerge. evolve. empower.' ?

Eleven years ago...

Tash Weddle along with Chris McCarthy dreamed of providing personal training and nutritional education to ALL women, regardless of their ability to pay the often high-price of such services.

They knew by teaching women how to strengthen their bodies, eat better, and to make time to prioritize themselves, these women would become empowered! They would be better mothers, daughters, friends, co-workers, and neighbors. These women would share what they learned and the ripple effect of better health would spread...making more and more women and families better, stronger, happier both inside and out.

Ten years ago...

The first class of four women came together.  Eleanor. Gail. Sandra. Yvette. The first four of over 3,000 women served by The New Beginnings Center (TNBC).

TNBC has grown, expanded...evolved over the last decade....

  • Classes first met at Vanderbilt University, and then St. Luke's Community Center.

  • A building to call our own in 2013.

  • Satellite locations evolved, and have grown to four in number.

          - St. Luke's Community House,

          - McGruder Family Resource Center,

          - Bethlehem Center

          - Southeast Branch of the SE Public Library

          - Gilda's House

  • Partnerships blossomed: Thistle Farms and Big Brothers Big Sisters.

  • Launched Iron Souls - a teenage girls program

  • Rolled out a new fitness and food tracking app

All of this growth, and all that we do is in an effort to empower this generation and the next to greatness... to better health, better fitness, better nutrition, to be their very best both inside and out.

When you give the gift of empowerment to women who wouldn't ordinarily have the opportunity to put themselves first, to learn to strengthen their bodies and minds, and to pass this knowledge onto those around them. You give the gift of change to women and teenage girls who are ready to accept that challenge. Thank you on behalf of all those women.

The New Beginnings Center is grateful to The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee for all they do to shine a spotlight on LOCAL nonprofits in motivating Middle Tennesseeans to “give back” in a big way.
