Over 165 individuals, businesses and community partners joined TNBC board and clients in supporting our annual 2015 Spirit of Wellness event. The Spirit of Wellness Award is given once a year to honor a TNBC partner who has dedicated their lives in support of improving the quality of life and wellness to those at risk in our community. This year’s award was accepted on behalf of J.D. Elliott, the 2015 honoree, by his wife Anita Raines Elliott and, Scott Perry, president, Memorial Foundation.Read More
New Beginnings recently celebrated the original founders and volunteer of the year, Libby Dorris, at our Summer Celebration on August 20th. This was such a fun event with an awesome band, great food and lots of great company. We are so grateful to all our founders. Without you, none of our success would be possible.
New Beginnings Open House
Over 60 guests came out to our Building a Stronger Nashville Open House on April 6th for some wine, hors d’oeuvres, music and to learn more about how New Beginnings is creating a healthy culture in Nashville. Thanks to all who attended this fun event.
TNBC congratulates these women on their hard work and success. Women who have graduated from the New Beginnings program this winter have achieved seven percent weight loss during the first 12 weeks of the program and are continuing to make progress towards their one year goals. Please join us in congratulating these ladies on their accomplishments!
Spirit of Wellness Luncheon
Over 200 friends and donors joined Tash Weddle in honoring co-founder Chris McCarthy at our annual Spirit of Wellness Luncheon on November 6th at Belmont’s Curb Event Center. Chris has played a vital role since New Beginning’s inception in June 2011 and continues to volunteer her time and service to help TNBC provide wellness coaching to over 200 women per year regardless of their ability to pay.
Volunteer Spotlight: Lydia Howarth
On August 26th New Beginnings honored Lydia Howarth in the first Volunteer of the Year event. Lydia is an outstanding volunteer and supporter of New Beginnings since its inception and family and friends joined us in celebrating her good work with the agency..
Our March event – A Night With Alice Randall – was a great success! Alice Randall, author of Ada’s Rules, did a great job in educating us all about the problems related to obesity in our community. She recognized Tash Weddle and The New Beginnings Center (TNBC) for their proactive steps and innovative ideas that are improving statistics in Nashville.Read More

Over 125 friends and donors joined Tash Weddle at our Spirit of Wellness luncheon in November. The New Beginnings Center held its annual luncheon at our new gym located at 509 Craighead Street, Suite 100 in Nashville. Monica Reed (Habitat homeowner) and Lynn Caveny (Siloam client) joined Tash Weddle for a great program that informed the audience of the current cost and state of obesity in our community and the hope and demonstrated results that TNBC programs give to scholarship clients for building their own pathway to wellness.Read More
